 Welcome to Reading Within Reach. We offer a tutoring service dedicated to helping students with dyslexia. We also assist those with other learning challenges to become successful readers and spellers.

My name is Donna Clements, owner and founder of Reading Within Reach. During my 24 years of teaching, I’ve seen many students who needed targeted help with reading and spelling. The Barton Reading and Spelling System is an Orton-Gillingham program. It is considered structured literacy. This system is proven to help struggling students and adults become successful readers and spellers.

As a Certified Barton Tutor at the Masters Level, I’ve used this program for 10 years to tutor students and adults one-on-one either in-person or online. • Online remote tutoring is available.

• Assistance Preparing for 504 and IEP meetings.

Jennifer Tarkington joined Reading Within Reach in September 2023. Jennifer offers in person tutoring.

My name is Jennifer Tarkington. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Journalism and a Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University in Public Administration. I am a homeschool mom of three children aged 11-17 years of age and have 8 years teaching experience. I have a heart for the struggling learner and am passionate about helping every student feel like they can succeed! I am currently working towards by Beginning Certification for the Barton Reading and Spelling Program.

Elisabeth Fedorka offers online tutoring and she has her Beginning Certification in the Barton Reading and Spelling system. She is not taking any new students at this time.

My name is Elisabeth Fedorka. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in Human Sciences and Sociology. My experience includes over ten years in childcare and working with therapists at Lyttle Fox Therapy in Mt. Juliet, TN. I have been tutoring with the Barton Reading and Spelling System for two years. I am Certified at the Beginning Level in the Barton Reading and Spelling System.

• Elisabeth is a Certified Barton Tutor at the Beginning Level: Elisabeth is not taking new students at this time.
• Private online tutoring.
• A minimum of 2 hours per week is required.
• Monthly progress reports.

Cathy Colon-DeCastro brings experience in both elementary education and special education for our students. She is working towards her Beginning Certification and will offer private tutoring, in person or online.

My name is Cathy Colon-DeCastro. I am from New York City, I received a Dual Masters Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education with a Bilingual extension from Touro College. I have taught for over two decades with a flexible style of teaching that can cater to all students and abilities. I have a true passion for working 1:1 with a student to help achieve their goals. I am eager to create a positive and fun environment as well as be apart of their reading journey.
